Intersex Kenya Education and Advocacy (I.K.E.A.) adopts a holistic and community-driven approach to advancing intersex children's rights. We combine grassroots advocacy with digital innovation, ensuring that our work is deeply rooted in the lived experiences of intersex adolescents and young adults. By integrating legal empowerment, educational initiatives, and peer support, we address the multifaceted challenges faced by the intersex community. Our approach is unique in its emphasis on inclusivity, intersectionality, and the active participation of intersex youth in shaping their own future.
We are dedicated to making a measurable impact in the lives of intersex children. We believe in transparency, accountability, and continuous learning to ensure our efforts lead to real change. Every project, every campaign, and every resource we create is designed with the goal of uplifting and empowering the intersex community specifically intersex children, adolescents and youth. Join us in our commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable world for all. Together, we can make a difference.
Our primary focus is on child- and youth-centered interventions that promote education, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and empowerment for intersex children and young people. Our secondary focus is advocacy for systemic reforms that advance the rights and well-being of all intersex persons, including access to employment, legal documentation, and full legal recognition.
